His datapad is hooked up to the computer and he appears to be fixing up something. Chinkatah enters from the bridge and howls. "Need some help with that?" He moves over to the console with you. Marcus looks up as he hears your howling. First Kryllen, and now you sneak up on him while he is doing this stuff. He really needs a look out, "Nah, i am fine pal. It is all done, just running some last minute diags to make sure everything is cool." Chinkatah waves his hands around as he howls and whelps. "I have been over this thing a hundred times, there better not be anything wrong with it." Marcus smiles softly, "Don't worry pal, these changes i am making aren't going to affect anything. They will actually help us when something does go wrong. Just some reroute terminals for all the major systems, it'll allow us to control the ship from the hangar if we have to." Chinkatah grumbles lowly. "Why do I even hang around with you guys, you mess with all my work, do things without asking. I thought I was the technician for these ships and we go and hire another." He lets out a big wookiee sigh and heads for the bridge where he can cuss without being understood. Marcus blinks at Chin's reaction and shrugs lightly. Thats the problem with Wookiee's, the slightest thing will set them off. Ahh well, he'll be fine in an hour or two. Chinkatah heads for the bridge. Chinkatah has left. TIME PASSES Chinkatah emerges from the bridge. Chinkatah has arrived. Marcus has finished doing what he was doing before. Now he just leaning up against the bulk head, typing stuff into his datapad. Chinkatah says nothing as he heads to a different terminal punching something into it with his big paws. Marcus shakes his head slowly, "Dammit Chin, get over it. You complain about having too much to do, and the moment i get told to make some improvements instead of you, you get into a huff about it." Chinkatah grumbles something in a low, imperceptable tone. You say, "Fine, you can do the lot from now one. Just don't come crying to me when you screw up the complex computer stuff. And don't even think about complaining to me because you have too much stuff to do." Chinkatah growls lowly. "I didn't ask to do everything, I asked to be informed of them." He turns to face you. "If I don't get informed then things get broken later when I try to fix other things." Marcus shakes his head, "You really think i am that stupid? Of course i was going to inform you, once i was finished. That way i could take you around the ship and show you were i installed all of them, and run you through the basics of the rewiring job to make them functional. Geeez Chin, i thought you knew me better than that." Chinkatah rumbles and grumbles. "But how do you know you are not screwing up something I did now?" He waves his hands around cocking his head back as he speaks. Marcus sighs softly, "I am not an idiot when it comes to computers, Chin. This is my life, this is what i do. I am able to back track changes you have made and make sure i never screwed up any of your changes." Chinkatah growls a bit more and turns back to his console typing something in again. Marcus points to the terminal he changed out here, "There, have a look for yourself. See if i screwed anything up, lets end this arguement once and for all." Chinkatah waves his paw dismissivly. He continues to punch away with the other paw then steps back. Grunting and wailing he replies. "I don't need to see it, you are the expert right." Marcus moves over to the terminal and opens it up, "I said look." He steps to the side so that you can get to the terminal. Chinkatah barks at you loudly baring his teeth. He squares upon you and this generaly ticked off wookiee seems pissed off now. If Marcus is frightened he does not show it at all, however his underwear might. He simply gestures to the terminal with his thumb. He knows this probably wasn't the best way to go about it, but he is too tired and has too much on his mind to be diplomatic today. Chinkatah growls in a low tone as his eyes glaze over. He took enough pushing around at the hands of the sith to be bossed around by a crewmate. He is definately displeased as he takes a step closer hands dropping to his sides. Marcus folds his arms across his chest and simply waits. Though he is not sure if he is waiting for you to look at the terminal, or waiting for you to turn his body into a puddle of goo. Chinkatah stares at Marcus for a long moment with thoughts of rendering the man limb from limb going over and over in his mind. Just what everyone needs in their crew, a boarderline psycho wookiee onboard. He looks for a really, really long uncomfortable moment before he calms himself enough to look at the panel. Marcus starts to get more worried as you just stare at him. As soon as you look at the panel he lets out a sigh of relief. He is pretty sure this will be better in the long run. If he shows you that he is not scared of you then it can only improve things, at least he hopes so. Chinkatah looks at the program and takes a moment to reroute some sub-systems whether they needed rerouting or not. He grumbles a bit at something but ignores it in the long run. "There, I looked." Marcus looks at you, waiting for you to say more. When you don't he speaks up, "And?" Chinkatah growls lowly. "And what?" He turns on you again. "You shot through some critical functions but they were easy to remedy now that I have had a chance to look at them." Marcus triple checked everything and he was sure they were fine. Which is why he was going to come to you after he had finished. He nods lightly, "Okay, i screwed up, i can admit that. Which is why i was waiting until i was done, so that you could go over them all at once, not bit by bit. So are you going to come down off your high horse now?" Chinkatah growls something uniteligable then takes a step back. "You should let me know before you do these things, I undestand that it is your realm but this ship is held together with spit and bailing wire." He points to the console. "Look here." He punches something up. "Primary drive is backed up by the tactical computer, it should have its own backup but the captain is too cheap to get a new one." He punches some other buttons. "And here is the fun one, primary life support is actually running astrogation and life support is run off the secondary generator." He he grumbles out a wookiee sigh. "So that goes down we have approximately 15 minutes to reroute the subroutines to get life support on the mainline before we run out of air." Chinkatah adds quickly. "Which as you well know means a complete shutdown of ships systems to reboot the mainline circuitry /after/ reinitializing the routines, subroutines...yadda yadda yadda." Marcus nods briefly, "Actually, life support is next on my list. I couldn't get what i wanted on that iceball, so i told Tenguin to take us to Corellia before heading into deep space. To hell with the captain and his tight assed pocket." He grins lightly, "You don't wanna know how many credits i have spent on this order of parts. If the captain has a problem with it then you can rip off his arms and beat him over the head with them. This is for the safety of the crew. And with any luck i will be able to kill the complete shutdown and reboot to get life support, weapons and shields back online. Still need to work on the blueprints, so it probably won't be for a while." Chinkatah pokes at the console some more. "Well then, while you are at it. We need a new primary coupler for the hyperspace drive." He punches up something else looking over his shoulder and moving closer to the console. "I accessed the captains private account...." Marcus chuckles softly as he did the exact same thing to order the new parts, "Okay, give me your list and i will pick them up when i get the other stuff i need." He starts to wonder if he should tell you about Joshua's concerns and plan, "The captain is gonna space as all when he finds out how much we have stolen from him." Chinkatah shakes his head and motions you closer. "No, look at this." He punches some things up on the screen and stands to block the view of anyone that may pass by. "He has been skimming our cut." He points to the primary account then presses a key bringing up a sub account. All the money goes into this sub-account then he transfers about 75% to the accoount he shows us." Marcus sighs softly, looks like Joshua is 100% correct. He glances around and then whispers, "Shut that down and come to my quarters. I have something i want to talk to you about without anyone listening in." Chinkatah punches a few buttons not only shutting off the monitor but clearing the memory. He nods and follows. Marcus shuts the door to his quarters after you walk in and then presses a button on his computer terminal, sweeping the room for bugs, "Okay, have a seat. The place is clean, we can talk safely." Chinkatah looks for a comfortable place to sit and fianly decides on the bed. he cocks his head sideways to listen. Marcus sits down at his desk and tries to find the best way to come out with it, "I'll start from the beginning. The other day myself, Joshua and Tenguin were in the cantina talking about the captain. Joshua believes the captain has sold us out. First our number one pilot says that she thinks the captain is getting soft, and then all of a sudden CorSec grab her. Then people turn up on Arkania and ask about the pirates, and we are not known to anyone yet. And now you show me how he has been screwing us over. Everything points to him selling us out. These systems i have been installing around the ship, the are rerouting modules, allowing me to get power to the hangar bay and the weapons from my datapad without the bridge or the captain knowing about it. Because he will surely have those things locked out when he hands us over to CorSec or the Republic." Chinkatah nods as he listens thinking being turned over to the republic isn't half as bad as being turned over to the Sith. Not that he likes either option but eh. "So we are going to do something about that then?" Marcus nods lightly, "Yeah, we are. The problem is if we do anything right now then it looks like a mutiny and we will have the whole crew against us. Which means we will be floating in space without space suits. So we need to wait for the captain to make his move, then we make ours. Joshua will be ready on the guns, Tenguin will be ready at the helm, and i will be ready with my datapad to give us the power we need. I won't lie to you, the odds are against us, and it will be risky." Chinkatah shrugs hios big wookiee shoulders. "Every time I step off this ship I am in risk. I won't be cheated though." He stands up having left a big ring of fur on your bed. "What can I do?" Marcus smiles and suddenly feels a lot better now that you are in. He prefers to be working with you, rather than against you, "I want you on the bridge. Tenguin is going to be in danger as soon as the captain realizes we are not going down without a fighter, he will need some protection. I will double check this with Joshua, but unless i tell you any different, that is what you will be doing." Chinkatah nods and heads for the door. "When we doin this?" You say, "Joshua thinks the captain will make his move when we have our next lot of legal cargo onboard. If we have illegal cargo then the captain will probably be thrown in jail with us. So be on alert the next time we pick up some legal cargo from the core. I'd say it will be within the next 2 weeks." Chinkatah nods then pauses at the door. "So who runs the show when he is gone?" Marcus shrugs his shoulders lightly, "No idea. I guess we will take a vote on that." Chinkatah nods and heads out. END OF LOG
