Like most of the streets in Mos Eisley, there is no pavement. Building exits let directly out onto the sandy street, where dewbacks and banthas share space with landspeeders and hovercycles. This is the main street of Mos Eisley, so it's always a bustle, even very late into the night. Droids and sentient organics mill about, as traders hawk their wares ("Only seven wupiwupi for fresh womp rat!"), and Jawas barter with humans over the price of everything from droids to junk metal. In the center of town is the massive, decomposing metal hulk of the old Dower Queen, the original colony ship that first brought settlers to this desert world. Mylana This pale-colored young female Twi'lek is vibrantly beautiful; seemingly everything and unique all at once. She stands at a modest 1.8 meters with a light and lithe but ample frame. The characteristic twin head tails stream behind her like thick fleshy locks of hair covered individually by a soft woolen black sleeve. A simple in-ornate traditional headdress adorns the top of her forehead complimenting her thin neat eyebrows that arch over slightly-almond shaped, luminescent blue eyes peering sensuously from beneath long dark eyelashes. If you stare into her eyes for too long they seem to hypnotize you with a warm pleasant feeling, then swallow you into their deep swirling pools. Pouty, red full lips and a petite nose are placed perfectly on her heart shaped face giving her an additional touch of sensual beauty that glows with a charisma all of it's own. Her clothing is a simple spacefarers garb. A long-sleeve shirt in a tan color with a fat orange strip across the chest clings nicely to her feminine form over which is a light jacket in the same tan color. Matching tan utilitarian cargo pants fit just right and are neatly tucked into the top of a pair of brown soft spacer boots. Around her slender waist is a standard utility belt with several pouches for various items as well as a right-hand hip holster that holds a compact blaster pistol. Everything a seeming contrast to the delicate beauty of this being. Almost looking like some kind of lone gunslinger the hooded figure of Prine moves down the unpaved road. Almost like a parting of the sea pedestrian traffic clears for him and heads turn to look but once before finding else to place their attention upon. The Sith Lord keeps out of the speeder and beast traffic as he progresses his long confident stride. Mylana stares curiously at the moving cloaked figure. For a moment she considers him a mark, then takes in the seeming omniscientness of his visage and frowns at herself. Still she is intrigued -- a dark stranger. Always drawn to adventure she can't help but stare a little too long. Sato Prine need not even look to sense the over curiosity of Mylana as the Twi'lek girl considers however briefly him as a mark. It amuses him and he gives pause to turn head in her direction as if in acknowledgement of her existence. The demon in him can not resist the petty and he briefly waves his hand sending out tendril of force to prick in illusory pain at the root of the Twi'lek's canine tooth. His grin in the hood is wide as he then continues. Mylana grits her teeth suddenly feeling a sharp pain in her mouth. She squints and ducks her head away as she brings her hands up to her face as if to block the pain from spreading. She wonders if she's been eating too many sweets lately. Sato Prine muffles his chuckling mirth at the minor distress her notice of him and his return notice of her resulted. He continues thus buoyant down the block. Jawa and less identifiable alien alike still parting in wake and some few calling out ouches as pricks here and there afflict them. He makes sudden turn at the Cantina and braves entry. Mylana still grimacing from her sudden toothache she still can't resist one last peek at the dark stranger. They always say 'curiosity killed the cat burglar'. Cantina -- Mos Eisley . Mos Eisley Cantina -- Mos Eisley The metallic music of a quartet band is the first thing you notice when you enter the Cantina. The interior is circular, and the floor is crowded with round tables and chairs. Along one wall is the bar, complete with stools and a pudgy, disgruntled looking bartender. Aliens humans, and creatures of every stripe imaginable mill about the Cantina, which is crowded at all hours, day or night. Indeed, it is dimly lighted in here, and once inside, it is hard to tell what time of day the outside world is experiencing. The din of conversation is all around, as people speak in dozens of different languages and drink all manner of exotic beverages. Xian raises an eyebrow as the darkly clad presence enters the room. He gives Sato a quick glance, short enough not to detract from his attention on Alexandre. Alexandre takes a seat, and sets his water down in front of him. He is out of his atmosphere here, and looks uneasy. "Good to meet the two of you," the man says and glances around again, with paranoia. "You fine folks wouldn't know where I could find a good game of sabacc with decent stakes?" Xian considers Alexandre and his question. If he heard right, Alexandre has only two weeks' worth of credits...'decent' stakes might be out of his range. "I wouldn't know, really," he replies. "I'm not much of a gambler. At least, not in that sense." Julianna shrugs, "Hmm never played Sabacc myself, heard that it's fun though." She looks up as someone else enters the cantina, and as usual letting her curiosity get the best of her wonders who he is... Xian peers curiously at the dark-clad figure but says nothing. His curiosity is once again piqued, and he gives Julianna a glace to gauge her reaction. The 'kid' remains very uneasy. Not only is this place dirty, dusty, and absolutely unexciting, but there hasn't been a single sign of wealth anywhere in the city. "That is a shame," he replies. Alex's speech is very clear, very proper. "Perhaps this planet is not the place of opportunity that I have heard about. Either of you know much about this city?" Sato Prine enters the cantina with the suddenness of a Borealian raptor. In a single gliding moment he is all at once in the room. He moves not his head as his mind reaches out as if detecting with unseen sight what sentients inhabit the dive. His lip curls at the din of what is passing for music and his senses assaulted with the scent of sweat and cheap women and liquor. Cheap evil for sale at bargain prices. He pulls down his hood as one mind seems overly curious he turns towards Julianna and mentally explores her further. Xian continues his surreptitious survey of the Sith while replying to the human. "There's plenty of opportunity, if you know what to look for. Which means, you can't expect to get rich quick." Its clear he's interested in the business side of things, not the glamour or gambling. Julianna nods toward Alexandre, "Well I'm from Jerrilek myself, and I agree Tatooine isn't my favorite place" Feeling kinda strange she again turns and looks at the stranger, as if trying to decide whether or not to introduce herself. She usually has no qualms meeting strangers, but this seems slightly different somehow. She wavers in indecision as she takes a sip of her drink. Sato Prine quickly becomes board with the flitting mind of the drinking purposeless Julianna. He moves from the entry way after having paused overly long and making for an empty table turns with a swiftness to address the bar keep, "Swill of the day." It is indeed an order. On several levels. Xian's eyebrow quirks as the Thethu announces his opinion of the place. He doesn't seem to care one way or the other, but files it away in the back of his mind, as he does with every tidbit of information. Keeping his face neutral, he turns to Julianna and murmurs, 'The dark one doesn't seem very happy with the service. Perhaps he's used to personal catering.' Alexandre smirks and turns to study Xian. "If it's not quick, and it doesn't make money, than it isn't worth pursuing," he announces loudly. "I do not intend to die an old man, with pockets full of credits, and my body broken by time and hard labor." He glances sideways, to see the monk-like figure walking up to the bar. "The music here could use some livening up," says the son of the self-proclaimed count. "I do not know... Something about being here makes me feel almost dirty. A feeling of stagnation, a lack of progress, commerce, and most of all, of entertaining. Perhaps I'll catch the first morning transport back to civilization." Xian chuckles grimly at Alexandre's pronouncement. .oO(I'd rather get my hands dirty and have steady income than keep 'em clean and be down to my last credits)Oo. Julianna finally decides what the hay, meeting someone never hurt anyone. Standing, "if you gentlemen will excuse me for a bit" she smiles pleasantly enough, picks up her drink and heads over to Sato Prine, all the while silently agreeing with Alexandre. Of course maybe she's bias, she always likes cooler, wetter climates better. Xian nods formally to Julianna as she departs. Finishing his drink, he says, "I think I, too, shall excuse myself. Business awaits." Xian tips his hat to the general populace and departs. Xian leaves Mos Eisley Cantina -- Mos Eisley and enters Dower Queen Street -- Mos Eisley . Xian has left. Sato Prine settles in at table and flits his robes to becomes comfortably draped. He watches with baleful eyes as Juliana crosses towards him excusing herself from mundane creatures. He nods a slow acknowledgement to her existence and gestures to a seat holding up two fingers for the bar keep. "You may sit" it too nearly an order. Julianna nods and quietly takes a seat almost unknowingly doing exactly as asked. She manages a weak smile, "I'm Julianna so what brings you here" she gestures to the surroundings. Having been relieved of his company, Alex hops to his feet. The young man has once more decided to be spontaneous, and to draw some attention, that the lack of good entertainment and gambling has caused him to crave. He leaves his untouched water on the bar and makes his way over to the band. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out enough credits to be hand fed by beautiful maidens and to sleep on silk sheets for a week. "Here, I'll trade you," he says to the guitar player. The pair trade and Alex pulls the guitar's strap over his neck. The man's nimble fingers begin picking at the strings in a very simple pattern. "You gentlemen can keep up?" he asks, but does not wait for the answer. He begins playing a soft folk tune, and plays in well. He begins walking around the cantina, and several moments into the song, he begins to sing. Alex's voice is loud, clear, and melodic. The tune is well known throughout the galaxy. Sato Prine notes the background change in audio and is thankful that the previous guitarist seems put out of his misery. Perhaps he should see to that later personally. "Of course you are." He says with charming voice and smile. "I delay amongst the locals for a time." Is the only answer he gives as to his cause for being. "What is your vice?" He asks pointedly. Julianna relaxes into her seat and listens to the pleasant music filling the place. She notes that Sato never said who he was, but she finally decides not to ask. "Well, I suppose its curiosity. The only thing is my vice is also my boon. I wouldn't be able to do my job without it." She takes a sip from her drink and tries to figure him out. Sato Prine senses around the edges of her mind what this job is but he gives verbalization to it. If she is trying to conceal her line of work he will know. "And what is your job. Julianna." He says her name and chews on each consonant as if paying with the sound of it over his lips. Alexandre continues to make his way around the cantina, moving faster as his song picks up in speed. He hollers, at the top of his voice, a song about spinning and turning, and dancing, and cavaliers stealing the hearts of young ladies. Once he makes a complete circle around the place, he begins to approach the bar, close to where Sato and Julianna are sitting. Julianna wonders briefly if she should tell Sato what she does. Seems like she's felt compelled to tell several people in dark cloaks her line of work. Shrugging away the odd sensation, "I do basic biological/chemical research. And some piloting on the side." She breaks away from his gaze and idly watches as Alexandre makes his way over through the crowd. Sato Prine knows the musician's destination but cares not what his purpose is as it seems like it is no Jedi or Krath plot. The Krath were too stupid and the Jedi too naive. "I dabble in chemicals myself." He admits making small talk in a dive bar of all things with a floozy chemist. "And biologicals. Any creations of note?" He asks wondering just how advanced Hutt Sciences are. All information was of use. Julianna's eyes light up when see hears Sato work with chemicals as well. "Actually no, I haven't done anything sense I left my lab on Jerrilek. I've been traveling around of late. I'm only here for the day. More places to go running" She sighs, "It's even hotter and more miserable here than it was on Corellia. I'll be glad to get back." Coming back to his question, "But I hope to get back to my research before too much longer." Alexandre has done before what he intends to do now, but it ended in disaster the last time. Not only did he not get the fancy holocube, but also got bruised quite well. Fortunately for him, theft is not his intention this evening. With little effort, the man hops on to the top of the bar. Now singing a new song about the travels of a group of nomads, he plays a quick tune, and begins to dance some easy folk song steps across bar top. The man seems to spread joy and happiness as he dances around all of the drinks. Each word, and each step, brings him closer to the pair discussing chemistry. "Give me your wrist." Prine commands expecting obedience. He seizes it whether it is offered or no and by his touch sends cooling chill to surround Julianna though it is a chill tainted with death and decay. He gives Tatooine's venturous a sudden glare at the wandering minstrel, as he becomes distraction. His eyes alight with eerie glow as he stars at the table where the guitarist is about to step making it temporarily slick as Hoth ice. "And when you were experimenting in this lab what was your specialty?" He is immediately back on Julianna not interested in watching slap stick prate falls. Julianna finds her wrist in Sato's cold grasp before she knows what's happening. Even though she feels a pinch from her mind somewhere that tells her to keep silent on this she finds herself explaining it to him under the spell of his gaze. "I've been working on combining the contagiousness of the influenza virus with a little known virus that effects the neurological centers of the brain. I was never able to test it before my lab was destroyed by the authorities on Jerrilek" she says as she sits very still. Just as he gets to the verse about the gypsy king, who endlessly searches for the worlds greatest treasure, and a woman beautiful enough to be his queen, Alex steps onto the icy table. The man was hoping for a good performance. He spent much of his last money to rent the guitar, he was hoping that his performance might make him some profit. Alex's clear, flowing song turns into a mix of yelling and yodeling, as he slips and flies up into the air, and then comes crashing onto the edge of the table, and then from there to the floor. Once the 'kid' hits the floor, there is no sound but silence. A moment later, then cantina re-erupts into loud laughter, which is interrupted for a moment, by loud and painful moaning. Sato Prine is all a stare at Julianna as if the histrionic tumble of the charlatan were taking place far from here. In the back of his mind though he takes petty pleasure in all of it. "Excellent." He comments drawing the word out to the fellow chemist. "I would enjoy knowing the results of such a test. I have dabbled in neurological experiments on the sentient mind. It is a pleasing thing to watch a wither drip by drip." He lets go her wrist as the collision deflates into moaning, "But now you are no longer experimenting?" He seems sad at this. Julianna sighs heavily, "I know I miss it terribly." Lighting up a bit, "But I think I've found a sponsor. If it all works out I'll be back in the lab again before too long." Somehow sensing it would be a terrible idea to let him know who the sponsor might be she 'attempts' to clamp down her mind and avoid Sato's eyes. Somehow there seems to be similarities between Sato and another she met recently. "However if everything works out I'll let you know" she offers naively. Alexandre continues to moan several moments after the laughter subsides. He swears at himself inside of his mind. One week closer to being broke now. He climbs up to his knees with a loud groan, and holds his side with both hands. "Bantha dung," he grumbles and moans once more as he stands up fully. He coughs and cringes once before he begins to stumble around slightly. Sato Prine can not help but chuckle at the words selected by the minstrel. Pity he got so showy he was more pleasant to listen to than the previous din. His eyes gaze deeply seeking to catch Julianna's own but she evades. He takes finger to her chin to force the issue as he senses her hiding something from him something that may indeed be important, just who was her new employer. He delves deeper prying into the more protected recesses of her mind and worrying not about leaving tracks of his own there. Julianna finds herself compelled to look straight and deep into Sato's eyes, unknown to her she carries a mental picture of the time when she met Sa'Vath and talked with him about the research. All this floats easily about through her mind, ready to be picked up. Mylana enters from Dower Queen Street -- Mos Eisley . Mylana has arrived. Mylana enters the Cantina relatively unnoticed. However, a few discreet nods from various customers tells you she's probably no stranger to these parts. "Corellia." Sato says aloud as he sees it in his mind knowing his rival foolishly left the fold on journey there. So this white trash chemist was what he had risked so much to come see was it. Odd that this had not been foreseen as clearly the force was fatedly at work here this night brining these two together. He thinks for a moment of snuffing her now and putting end to whatever Krath scheme Malice had up his sleeve. But no the Thethu were more subtle than their Mandalorean kin. He remains in her mind. Saying aloud but planting deep, "You will continue as Sa'Vath wishes. We did not see each other tonight." He pauses to make sure the implant takes hold before giving her the rest of her subliminal directives. Julianna is slightly taller than the average Falleen female. She has a slender, yet athletic frame. Deep green eyes beam with genuine lust for life. However the light in her eyes seems offset by the firm set of her mouth. But there's something about her smile makes some people uncomfortable. Rich dark, curly brown hair falls midway down her back. Her smooth reptilian skin is generally a light red hue, almost the color of a human but with a reddish tinge. Her deep blue, form fitting pants suit reveals soft curves. With long sleeves and a low scoop neck the outfit provides warmth and ease of movement. The pants taper down into a pair of black leather knee high boots. Slung diagonally across her hips is a utility belt that holds a blaster, medpack, and a pouch. Mylana steps down into the main room of the Cantina she nimbly picks her way up to the bar. She glances out the corner of her eye catching a glimpse of the same dark stranger she had seen outside earlier. A furrow of uneasy nervousness flashes across her brow although she's not sure why. Pretending to mind her own business she steps up to the bar as the pudgy man behind it nods to her in apparent recognition. Nodding back she mutters an order to him as she plants herself on a stool. Julianna face slackens as if she were in a daze and her normal reddish tinge turns a greyish color associated with Falleenian sleep. She nods slightly as if agreeing to all of Sato's directions. Xian strides back into the cantina, a frustrated frown on his face. He glances around and sees a couple of familiar faces, and returns to his place at the bar. Sato Prine does not notice even mentally the reappearance of the pickpocket. She is not important right now. He keeps Julianna's gaze and reaches into the folds of his cloak taking out amulet on fine silver chain. He puts it over her head, a piece of sith alchemy. "This is your family heirloom on your mothers side passed down for generations. You will never take it off." Xian raises an eyebrow as he notices the Sith with his acquaintance, Julianna, but leaves the two in peace. He watches surreptitiously from the bar, but does not interrupt their business. Mylana is also at the bar sipping at some light blue colored concoction and looking around the Cantina slowly from the corners of her eyes. Xian scowls darkly as he orders his drink from the barkeep. He gives Julianna's table another look, clearly mistrustful. It's not often that a complete stranger gives someone a necklace like that, much less with the words the human spoke. He doesn't like it...but knows it's not his business. Yet. Julianna nods and runs her fingers across the amulet, and then suddenly shakes her head as if clearing it from a fog, with no memory of what happened. You notice her color returning to normal. Looking at Sato rather confused, "Oh I'm sorry I suppose I must have fallen asleep at your table. You'll excuse me sorry for the trouble" She stands up rather confused and manages to bump into a couple of people passing by as well as trip on her own chair. Mylana finishes off her drink in a quick gulp and wipes her mouth rather unceremoniously before turning and walking towards the door. Sato Prine relaxes as if gloating over a won victory. He looks about seeing that the poor minstrel has fled. Well who could blame the now bruised fellow. The bar keep at last braves delivery of the two drinks at the table though now there is but one dark soul there and he drinks deep. Xian glares once again at the dark man before trying to get Julianna's attention. He calls her softly, to see if she's listening. Julianna walks a little unsteadily towards the door, she seems kinda out of it and doesn't notice Xian calling her. Mylana apparently doesn't notice Julianna as she accidentally bumps into her walking towards the door. Stopped in her tracks she looks at Julianna rather annoyed, "Hey!" Xian clearly does not like what he has seen, but makes no move to speak with Julianna while the dark trickster is still present. He knows he'll track her down and speak with her privately, but for now he continues to study the lone human in the cantina. Julianna is hardly aware that she is a few credits short as she leaves the cantina. With one hand over the amulet, she takes a deep breath and goes out into the heat of the day. Mylana shakes her head at the exiting figure of Julianna. After another second or so she too moves again to exit. Sato Prine continues to nurse his two drinks till both are as dry as his throat still is sucking down the dusty desert air. He rises and shrugs his shoulders allowing his robes to fall into place with a shudder. He gives Xian a return gaze staying with it overly long. Mylana leaves Mos Eisley Cantina -- Mos Eisley and enters Dower Queen Street -- Mos Eisley . Mylana has left. Xian downs his drink and does not flinch from Sato's gaze. He decides, however, that he should find out more about what happened...and the clues may be outside with Mylana. Xian leaves Mos Eisley Cantina -- Mos Eisley and enters Dower Queen Street -- Mos Eisley . Xian has left. There being nothing left in the Cantina of interest, Prine gives Xian affair lead out the door before shadowing after. **CURTAIN**
