A park-like area near the bridge is often used as a study area, and the open areas in that park are teaming with life as students and teachers alike take part in sports and athletic activities, honing the body. At each corner of the square compound is a tower that is easily 200 stories high. Paths criss-cross the entire compound and run the perimeter, from tower to tower. At the north end of the compound is a large hill constructed of many different types and sizes of boulders. In the center of the courtyard is the largest tower - rising another 100 stories above the other towers in the complex. The doublewide, ornate doors to this tower are always open. Unlike the other towers, this one has a wide section near the top that removes the tapered look the other towers have. Above this bulge is where the Jedi Council Chamber is located. Ashton A powerfully built man whose eyes and smile coincide with his young and athletic-looking physique. Averaging these two factors, a guess that the human male is somewhere in his late teens or early twenties is close to accurate. His light brown, almost sandy-brown hair is just longer than collar-length with a slight wave at the bottom as if it's starting to curl. He has light hazel eyes, more green than brown, but this changes with his mood or outlook. His short goatee is light brown with tinges of red in it. He is rather average in height; no more than five foot ten inches tall. Ashton is wearing a light blue tunic over a soft white, high- collared shirt. The loose sleeve tunic is belted at the waist with a black utility belt. His black pants are tucked into a pair of knee- high boots, made of soft black nerf leather. Clipped to his utility belt is a smooth, silver cylinder. Tai Jinn A young man of about 16 human years old stands here. That much is evident as you gaze upon this being. Nothing seems to stand out exceptionally about him, just a normal everyday joe, with nothing fantastic to his looks. A dark blond... almost a reddish blond mop of hair is present on the top of his head. It looks slightly unkempt, but fortunately it is cut short so it doesn't look horribly sloppy. Maybe 1/2 an inch in length, the only way you can tell it's unkempt is the slightly poofy look it presents as if it was just washed and then life moved on. A pair of matching eyebrows is also present. Perhaps if you looked hard enough, you'd notice that the right one seems a bit longer than the left, but it's not -horribly- obvious. A pair of hazel eyes is present under the eyebrows, twinkling slightly with either excitement, or perhaps a little secret. For the most part they look to be joyous, however a possibility of pain is always there, just hidden further underneath. A small mouth with palish lips seems to curl into a natural smile, adding depth to the cheeks and permanent dimples found there. He is clothed in the standard brownish robes of a Jedi, a black sash/belt wrapped around his mid-section and black boots upon his feet. His walk is easy with a natural grace to it, as are most of his motions. Cerin Cerin is a tall human, with an athletic build to himself. His skin is a few shades darker than fair... showing that he has often been in the sun on one world or another. His hair is a deep, almost chocolate brown, and falls to just above his shoulders, kept free from any restriction as well. His eyes are a soft gray, and they shine brightly as they gaze over his surroundings. Over his body, he wears simple brown robe, over a tanned tunic. The robe itself is hooded, and seems to be well worn, but still quite serviceable. The tunic, from what can be seen, covers his body and his upper arms, though any further cannot be discerned under the robe. At his forearms though, a pair of bracers rest, to help protect his forearms. A wide belt wraps over his waist; the only thing tied to that is a single lightsaber hilt; of simple yet functional design. The robe continues to cover him, down to his ankles, where it partially covers a pair of dark brown leggings, as well as a pair of well-used boots, made from a soft, but dark black leather. As the sun begins to set in the west, long shadows begin to cover parts of the courtyard from both of the towers on that side of the complex. The stillness of the evening is broken only by the sounds of feet against stone. As it is nearing dinner, very few students or teachers are about. Walking down the main walkway from the central tower is a young man of possibly 22 or 23 standard years. Unlike many of the Jedi Knights, he doesn't wear earth tones. His blue tunic is a pleasant sight against the sunset backdrop. Ashton continues his leisurely stroll through the courtyard, at peace with himself and the Force, and happy to be home. Tai enters into the main courtyard from the entryway that leads to the main streets of Coruscant. He strolls casually and with confidence, yet with direction in his steps. Pausing a moment, he turns direction and begins to walk towards Ashton, the returned Jedi Knight from wherever he might have been. As he arrives in speaking distance, Tai calls out quietly towards Ashton. "Excuse me?" he inquires towards him. Stepping out from the platform, Cerin looks up towards the tall towers of the Jedi complex. Eyes wide with curiosity, the Corellian continues his upwards glance, before looking back down, surveying the grounds before him. Seeing the other two nearby, a wry smile comes to his face, and he walks quietly towards them both, "Good day to you..." Ashton slows slightly as he senses first Tai and then Cerin as they enter the courtyard. He stops as Tai greets him and inclines his head to the young man. "Hello," he says simply with a small smile. He turns his head as Cerin approaches and lifts a hand in response to the greeting. "Good evening to you both..." Smiling to Ashton, warm and friendly as he always is, Tai speaks to him quietly. "I'm sorry... I don't believe we've met. I am Tai Jinn..." He trails off as he tries to focus upon Ashton and remember the man from somewhere but merely draws blanks. "I have a near perfect memory... and I don't remember you for certain... who might you be?" Tai's tone never leaves the area of friendliness. Listening quietly, Cerin listens quietly, looking towards Ashton curiously as Tai speaks his question. Holding himself casually, he can't help but glance around the tall spires again...around the tall spires again... Ashton arches an eyebrow slightly, his smile widening into a grin. "No reason you should remember me, Tai Jinn," Ashton says, his voice tinged with a recently re-acquired Corellian accent. "I am Ashton Quince... and to be honest, I haven't been on Coruscant for some months now." He offers his hand, first to Tai and then to Cerin. "So what brings you two young men in so late for dinner?" He realizes Cerin probably just arrived, but Tai had been in the city, so he was somewhat certain both were new students here in the temple. Probably recently transferred here from Ossus. "I just landed a little over an hour ago, sir..." Cerin smiles a bit upon hearing the familiar accent of a Corellian dialect. He continues on after a moment, "I just found my way here..." grinning a bit, he adds, "Though I hope dinner hasn't been totally finished." Tai smiles slightly, "I've been on Coruscant for awhile now, been out in the city offering aid to some others that were needing it. Helped a woman with a large number of bags earlier at the spaceport... just been keeping myself busy. In fact, I hadn't realized I had nearly missed dinner until you mentioned it." He speaks all this after shaking Ashton's hand of course. Ashton grins, shaking his head slowly. "Doubt it... and if it is, we'll raid the kitchen." Obviously this young man is a somewhat seasoned Jedi, but he maintains his youthful, almost mischievous attitude. He gestures towards the residence hall. "Most likely, your rooms have already been set up. The dining hall is on the ground floor though... past the elevators." Tai's words seem to give Ashton a reason to pause though, and he turns to the young padawan slowly. For a moment, he threatens to frown, but a smirk escapes instead. "Just don't let Master Pos'kil know you were near the spaceport. He gets kind of concerned with new students going out on their own before settling in." He chuckles before nodding towards the residence tower. "Well, if you're hungry, let's go... you probably need to check in with the Headmaster anyway..." "That'd be excellent, sir..." Cerin bows his head once, a calm smile on his face as he looks over towards the residence tower; waiting for Ashton to lead the way for them, "You said you just arrived to Coruscant sir?" Tai hesitates slightly before following the others quietly, listening in to the conversation that's taking place. Ashton nods as he begins making his way down the path towards the southwest tower. "That's right," he says to Cerin as each of the Padawan fall in on either side of him. "And it was good to visit family when I was away... but it's nothing like Coruscant." Despite his apparent knowledge, Ashton seems different than many of the Jedi the two padawan are most likely used to. His speech is definitely not as starched or official as most Knights or Masters. Instead, he seems to relate to the two padawan in plain old basic. He pauses as the door to the residence hall opens silently in front of them. No Jedi trick - the doors are made to sense movement and easily slide aside. Following behind Ashton, Cerin smiles widely, nodding his head slightly as the older Jedi speaks, "Where was it that you had gone sir?" even with Ashton's relaxed speech, Cerin still maintains some protocol... just in case this might be a test of some kind. Watching the doors open before them, Cerin follows Ashton inside. Tai Jinn follows behind as well, smiling always in some sort of either inner joke, or inner joy. He seems to be the happiest of any Jedi you'd run across. Ashton seems to sense the caution Cerin uses and nods in approval. As they enter the main lobby, Ashton leads the younger Jedi towards the dining hall, which has begun to thin out, as the dinner rush seems to be over. "Corellia... well, the Corellia sector really. My family lives on Tralus, but I spent most of my time on Corellia." He makes his way into the hall and nods towards the cafeteria-like line of food. "Help yourselves... I'll go check on your quarters and find out where you go..." With that, the Jedi Knight bows his head and exits the dining hall towards the lobby. Tai heads to the food lines and retrieves some food, however after several moments he heads to a seat with a bunch of other Padawan and sits down with his plate of what appears to be only green items, vegetables. After a few moments of contemplating the food, he begins to delve into it slightly and commences making small talk with some of the other Jedi around him. Cerin heads over as well, taking a few different types of meats and gravy style food. After finishing his plate, he walks over towards Tai, and then smiles, setting his tray down across from the other Padawan, "Mind if I join you?" Nodding to the seat, Tai finishes his mouthful of salad and states, "No, not at all, in fact I encourage you to." He smiles to Cerin before taking another bite of his meal. Interesting how all the Padawan are seated around at that table now, including the few NPCs or what not. "So, Cerin... what is it there that you're eating?" Tai inquires to the man friendly. Cerin grins widely as he takes the seat, and then nods his thanks to Tai. At the question, he looks down to his food, "This? Sausage and roast nerf, in a meat sauce," he glances over to Tai's dish, "How about you?" Ashton re-enters the dining hall as things quiet down. In tow is a more somber looking human male, who looks to be twice as old as Ashton. Ashton pauses as the near the table and smiles to both padawan learners. "Tai, Cerin? This is Tirol'dyn. He's in charge of the housing for the padawan learners." The fact that Ashton doesn't refer to Tirol'dyn as 'Master' is a sure sign the man is a Jedi Knight, the same as Ashton. Just much older and much more scholarly-looking. Despite his serious demeanor, he offers a smile to both young men. "Welcome to Coruscant, young padawan. I've got quarters set up for you on the 100th floor. You're fortunate; you're the only padawan we have on that floor for the time being. We're renovating some of the lower floors..." Speaking to Cerin before Ashton returns, Tai smiles and says quietly to him. "A salad... all I ever eat." Tai moves to speak again, but then Ashton returns with the housing manager and he stands quickly, bowing slightly to the Knights. "Thank you much, Knight Tirol'dyn, for quickly attaining us quarters. We are most grateful." Cerin turns around to face the other Knight, and smiles a bit, standing up to bow slightly, "Yes we are, thank you Knight Tirol'dyn." He looks back up, and then turns back over towards Ashton as well, "Thank you as well Knight Ashton..." Ashton smiles at both young men, and a definite feeling of peace washes over the young padawan. It's easy to locate the source of the peaceful feeling, as Ashton's presence in the Force grows brighter. "Just Ashton is fine." Tirol'dyn nods sagely, "Yes, and you can call me Tirol... or simply Ty if you wish." Ashton nods towards the plates on the table. "If you're done... we were about to head outside for a bit. Unless you'd rather get situated in your rooms first..." Cerin looks towards his mostly empty plate; he's a rather quick eater, and then turns back up to face Ashton and Tirol, "Actually, I would like to see the grounds a bit first..." he looks back over towards Tai Jinn, "How about you Tai?" Tai doesn't bother to return his gaze to his plate, which is nearly full. He instead nods towards Cerin. "I concur actually, I'm rather intrigued to see what is about this region more fully." Smiling at the two knights, he waits for them to lead the way. Even as Ashton and Ty turn away to head outside, the dishes that the padawan students have left on the table are lifted and carried, via the Force, to where two of the younger padawan are gathering dishes. KP duty... yuck. But they do their duty with a cheerful smile. As the two Knights lead Tai and Cerin out of the building, they emerge into a small gathering of padawan learners and Knights, all facing the center of the courtyard. Once Ashton pushes his way past a few students, he stops, grinning. There, in the light of the courtyard's lamps, two Jedi Knights are facing each other, lightsabers ignited. Ashton jabs Ty with an elbow. "Those two STILL competing against each other?" To which Tirol'dyn can only nod with a smirk. Cerin glances over towards the two knights squared off against each other, and then turns his head over to face Ashton, a faint smile on his face, "Rivals, friends, or both?" Tai watches with a studious eye, taking in their actions from a standpoint before sighing and shaking his head. "Some actions I will never understand... such as these..." Ashton tilts his head to one side, watching as one Knight makes an incredibly aggressive move towards the other, to which the other parries and dances back a step. "Both," Tirol'dyn says quietly, watching as intently as Ashton. As the two Knights break apart and begin circling each other again, Ashton turns his head to Cerin. "Worse, they're brothers..." Again, Tirol'dyn's only reply is to smirk. "Personally, I think they just love the attention of the students." He glances at Tai, notices something, and then glances back at Cerin. "Have you both constructed your lightsabers?" Cerin nods his head once; holding out the cylinder in one hand after unclasping it, "Yes sir... I have..." he smiles a bit, looking up towards Ashton and Tirol. Tai also nods and produces a cylinder handle of a lightsaber blade. "Yes, I've created one as well... although it's not exactly as I want it to be." Shrugging however, he displays it for the others to see. Ashton nods to both padawan learners with a small smile. "Good... follow me." With that, Ashton turns away from the students and pushes his way through the crowd and emerges out into the clearing as both Knights engaged in combat there come to a stop. The crimson and violet blades pause, then both Knights notice Ashton and turn to him and bow slightly. With a whoosh, both sabers are turned off, and the area gets a bit darker without the added light from the blades. Ashton grins at both of them. "Show-offs," he says with a grin. With a hand, he gestures the two new padawan out into the open area with him. Tirol'dyn is close to follow. Tai follows along with Ashton, although a bit hesitantly. He certainly can tell where this is heading and the Padawan definitely does not like it. Whatever his motivations are however, are yet to be seen. Cerin follows as well, looking over to the other two Knights for a moment, before turning back over toward Ashton, quietly waiting whatever the more experienced Jedi has planned. Ashton turns to the gathering in the courtyard and arches an eyebrow. His eye catches some of the other Knights and a few nod as they recognize what he is doing. This isn't a demonstration, it's a chance for the padawan to practice and have some fun. Ashton has barely turned his attention back to Tai and Cerin before the other students and teachers are moving away to other areas of the courtyard. Ashton catches Cerin's eye. "Nice and slow... You both should know some basic control over those things, so I want to see that." He turns to Tai, "This is merely a portion of your training Tai. Not a demonstration." With that, he steps back and makes room for the two Padawan to prepare. Nodding his head once, Cerin lifts his lightsaber in both hands, igniting it after a moment. With a snap-hiss... a brilliant golden-yellow blade emerges from the hilt, and Cerin inclines his head slightly to Tai, bringing the saber up in a quick salute, before dropping into a sparring stance, a friendly smile to his face. It was quite clear that Ashton knew what was concerning Tai... he definitely is not one to show off, or demonstrate... preferring to do his training in private. Not often in fact will one see him actively use the force unless he himself is incapable of doing something... as the masters always taught, don't use the force at the expense of your own abilities. Nonetheless, it is evident to Tai he has no choice really in the matter but to spar. Igniting his blade, it's bluish-white beam of energy shooting out of the handle, he also salutes towards Cerin and assumes a defensive stance, always a defensive stance. Tirol'dyn cocks his head to one side, reaching out with the Force to sense both students' frame of mind. He eases past Cerin, with his energetic acceptance of the guidance the Force is giving. He senses that Tai is willing to allow the Force to lead him, but reluctantly accepts this necessary portion of his training. He grins at Ashton. "Whaddya think? Scholarly type?" to which Ashton can only shrug with a smile, never taking his eyes off of the two padawan. END OF LOG
